Sandbox environment: prices, stock and coupons are synthetic test data. What this means

What is Cartroute?

Cartroute is a unified retail search API for AI agents. One request returns matched offers, landed prices, 90-day price history and verified coupon codes from 12 major US retailers as normalized JSON. Free to start with 200 credits.

Who is Cartroute for?

Teams building AI agents and assistants that need to answer "where is this cheapest?" without running a scraping operation: shopping assistants inside chat apps, procurement agents that buy office hardware, deal newsletters, browser extensions and coding agents wiring commerce into a product. People use the same search on this website; agents use the REST API or the MCP server.

What problem does Cartroute solve?

The same product sells at very different prices across stores, and the sticker price is not what a shopper pays. Across the 40 products and 234 offers in the Cartroute catalog today, the price spread between the cheapest and dearest retailer for an identical item regularly runs to hundreds of dollars. Getting that right requires three things an agent cannot do reliably on its own: matching the same product across 12 catalogs by GTIN, adding shipping, and knowing which coupon codes actually work.

How does Cartroute get its data?

Offers come from retailer product feeds and affiliate catalog APIs, refreshed every 10 to 30 minutes per retailer. Products are matched across retailers on GTIN and manufacturer part number, never on title alone. Coupons are verified by attempted redemption; each carries a success rate and sample size. The full method is in how Cartroute compares prices. This deployment serves the sandbox catalog, whose prices are synthetic and labelled as such in every response.
